24 HOUR NEWS CHANNEL LCI… GETS TO GO TO FREE DTT!
After many attempts, LCI, the TF1 group’s 24-hour news channel, finally got the authorisation to become a free-to-air channel, following the CSA’s decision on December 17th. The channel will therefore be in direct competition with BFM and iTele, which have been free to air since the beginning of DTT. This authorisation is controversial after several refusals, with several players arguing that it represents a step back for channel diversity, while others maintain that LCI could not have survived being a paid channel.

AN INESCAPABLE AND GROWING MEDIUM : TV’S AUDIENCE INCREASING
15% of our daily time: that’s what the time we spend in front of the TV every day represents. The length of time spent increased by 1,2% when taking into account live, D+7 and catch-up TV. Among the targets where it increased most: 50+ year-olds (+1,8%) and AB individuals (+1.4%).

AFTER THE SUCCESS OF CULINARY SHOWS, A LITTLE RECAP OF THE STATE OF BAKING PRESS
As we are in the middle of preparing for the holidays, the culinary arts are certainly at the forefront of many people’s thoughts. On top of TV or radio shows dedicated to cooking, happenings at restaurants from magazine Le Fooding, there are also magazines dedicated to baking. The market is young with 90% of titles launched after 2009, and it is booming with 43% of titles with a circulation above 50 000 copies. Preferrably they also come with pretty pictures: 90% of titles cost more than 4€ an issue.

A social network that’s in full swing, that consumes teens and pre-teens, even pulling them away from Facebook. It may be a cliché, but it is true that Snapchat is a bit of a mystery for people over 25. However, given the network’s popularity among younger users, brands need to take it into account. Thanks to this study by the « On prend un café » agency, with detailed analysis of brand’s experiments, you won’t have an excuse anymore to bypass Snaps.

A SUDDEN DESIRE FOR A MOVIE TO ACCOMPANY YOUR COMMUTE?
Your desire will be fulfilled, at liste at the Gare de Lyon, thanks to a digital Metrobus billboard, until January 7th. In 1 minute, passersby can download a film on their smartphone, thanks to the Fast Point app, developped with Orange. A rather clever idea for commuters.

ASUS FOR THE FIRST TIME ON TV AND IN THEATERS BEFORE STAR WAR WITH… MY MEDIA!
The 4th laptop maker has started its first TV campaign to launch its latest smartphone, the Zenfone 2. My Media orchestrated this campaign on TV and in movie theaters, as the campaign will also follow the latest Star Wars from December 16th to January 6th.

1 000 BOOKS DISTRIBUTED FOR FREE ON MONDAY DECEMBER 21ST IN THE PARIS METRO
A nice and untested campaign to increase the awareness of BOOXUP, the free book sharing application: the distribution will mix several trendy ingredients, pairing up culture, sharing and recycling. And it comes with a hashtag #FreeYourBooks and a Twitter account @booxup.
