WELCOME TO FRANCEINFO IN THE FAMILY OF NEWS CHANNELS!
Since Wednesday, August 31st at 18h, France Info has been broadcasting, the result of a collaboration between France Televisions, Radio France (France Info) and the INA (the National Audiovisual Institute). With its choice to begin its broadcast a few minutes before on the Internet than on channel 27 of DTT, France Info is affirming one of its differences compared to BFM, LCi and CNews: a heavy focus on digital content (with many video modules) and especially a desire to decrypt and be accessible. This desire is also behind the outdoor campaign the channel is currently running. Click here to find out more about the origins of Franceinfo.
FRENCH PEOPLE ADDICTED TO THEIR NEWS!
Where there’s news, there’s the 8 o’clock report. Days pass, but the news reports remain! Indeed, half of French people get their information from TV, favoring the traditional news and 24-hour news channels. This is a very high figure compared to other countries in the world (see the Reuters Institute Digital News Report 2016). Despite the boom in digital media, websites only come second (20%), followed by social networks (9%), now tied with radio. However, these habits vary greatly depending on people’s age: 54% of 18-24 yo get their information online, while older generations favor TV at 60%. Check back on September 11th to find out the winners decided by the jury led by Frédéric Mitterrand. Discover the selected films here.
A STRATEGIC SEASON FOR THE TF1 GROUP
If TF1’s ratings can be challenged somewhat by the growing power of the biggest DTT channels’, the group remains a leader with its 5 TV channels (TF1, TMC, NTI, HD1, LCI) and highly interactive with the MyTF1 platform (7th video site with 3,8 million unique visitors in July 2016, Mediametrie). The group’s new strategy is based precisely on this TV and digital capital, with additional below-the-line campaigns, with the goal of becoming France’s number one Content Marketplace. The idea is to become « the business partner which highlights [brands] in a dynamic and managed ecosystem of broad-reaching content, connected to French people’s rythms. » Click here to find out more.
