A GOOD START TO THE SEASON FOR TF1!

Over 12 new productions are expected for the next season: new US series, traditional shows like « Koh Lanta » or « The Voice » (M Pokora, Florent Pagny, Mika, Zazie), concert broadcasts (M.Pokora, Michèle Bernier) and French series like « La vengeance aux yeux clairs » (Laetitia Milot) which already got over 5.9 million viewers on Thursday. The 2017 presidential elections and 2018 World Cup qualifier matches fill out the schedule for a year which will be filled with events!
OFNI: TOP OR FLOP?
Bertrand Chameroy started his season on W9 this past Thursday, September 29th with the new show « OFNI-L’info retournée » (News Upended, OFNI being a play on the French word OVNI for UFO, and News in French backwards) whose first guest was Bernard de la Villardière. On the docket: « happenings, parodies, street interviews, parodies and guests to have fun with the news”, according to the channel. To ensure a good launch with high ratings, the channel chose to not air any ads both between the prime-time movie and the show and during the show itself. It didn’t quite work out though with only 297.000 viewers for a 3.1% share. Click here for more details.
WE ALL HAVE OUR GRAZIA!
The women’s magazine started its male counterpart on September 28th. Built around 4 sections: « Inventory » with stories, investigations and interviews, « Style » for fashion, « Magazine » around current events and finally « Inspiration ». In short, a fairly complete new magazine. The plan is for a biannual publication with circulation of around 50 000 for a price of 3.90€ for 200 pages. Click here for more info.
THE 15TH PARIS NUIT BLANCHE BY JC DECAUX!
On October 1st, the Paris nuit blanche (sleepless night) is back with a theme of an “initiation voyage” around love. JC Decaux is bringing a real show -it is actually a work of art- at the Conciergerie by showing a 1 230 m² painting imagined by artist Pierre Delavie. After the Pont-Neuf wrapped by Christo 30 years ago, they found an even simpler way to transform the landscape: Outdoor! Click here to find out more.
TWITTER MOMENTS FOR ALL: IT’S NOW!
While rumors on the company’s acquisition are buzzing, the social network, which just loosened its 140 caracter rule (see Ramdam #283) is opening its tweet curation tool to all. A way to compete with Snapchat’s Stories maybe? Indeed, the format allows users to create a page grouping the tweets on a given subject enriched with images, GIFs and videos. Created in 2015, until now the feature was only available to a select few –Nasa, Vogue magazine or Buzzfeed for example- as well as notable influencers. Will this new feature attract new users to complete the current 131 million users? Click here for more details.
YOUNG (STUDENTS) ADDICTED TO ONLINE VIDEO
Médiamétrie figures regarding the ratings of online video on desktop in August were just published: more than one out of 2 French people 2 years old and up at least watched one video over the month. Almost 8% of them were… students! This target is promising: it watches for a long time (9h22 per month) and watches many videos (21 per month). The first category of watched videos: movies. Now we just have to hope they don’t have wifi in the classrooms! Click here for more details.

DO YOU DRINK WATER EVERY NOW AND THEN?
Louise Delage / 25 yo / Paris. A stylish Instagram profile, pictures of parties and holidays where the Parisian girl poses. Hashtags like #instagood #parisiangirl #détente #foodporn which attracted followers and influencers! So far, nothing unusual for the social network, but users started asking questions… Indeed, the young woman has a drink in each shot which you don’t notice until you do. A few weeks after the account was created, the truth was finally revealed, it was a campaign led by BETC and the Addiction Action Fund to remind people of the dangers of social alcoholism. Indeed, Louise Delage could be one of your friends. Check out the summary of the campaign here.
